We’d better look quick when the time comes, so we are discussing this early. Next month, for just a few weeks in late October and early November, we won’t need a trip to New England to enjoy the brilliant colors of autumn here in Atlanta. A special time, and some special places are called for, if we wish to celebrate the fall of the year.
The places for seeing this gorgeous, annual phenomenon are not as rare or as distant as one might imagine. Grant Park, on the Eastside, has mature trees that develop fall colors throughout its 131 acres. Less than 30 minutes from downtown, Panola Mountain State Park offers a panorama of colors, too.
Close by the Roswell homes for sale, the Roswell Mill and historic town square offer the opportunity to hike or stroll as you take in the fall foliage colors there. At the Mill, you can hike across a bridge and up to a waterfall while enjoying the scenery. From there, it is less than a half-mile walk to Roswell’s historic town square, where you will be surrounded by beautiful trees, and where you can tour Barrington Hall, the nearly 200-year-old mansion there.
When Colors Shine Through
What do fall colors have to do with authenticity? And why would an Atlanta home builder want to talk about them, as rare as they might seem here? The answers have to do with where these colors come from, and why we see them only in the fall.
Botanists tell us that the fall colors are always there. The brilliant yellows of a birch, or the reds of a maple, or the orange we see atop an old oak are in those leaves year-round. The reason they are revealed only in the fall is that the green chlorophyll that is doing its work of nourishment, working hard to produce food in collaboration with the sun during growing season, is so abundant that it masks all the other pigments in the leaves.
Until its work is completed for the season, chlorophyll is all we can see in the colors of those leaves. When the chlorophyll clocks out, then we see fall foliage. Knowing now that the brilliant colors are not turned to, but rather revealed, gave us a reminder of authenticity, and why it is part of our philosophy as we build the Atlanta homes for sale.
A Process of Discovery
With time, our experience as a home builder led us to consciously create homes and communities that align with the visions and lifestyles of the people who will live there. We intend to offer a pleasant process of discovery that can make their dreams come true.
